Glory is eternal, there is nothing temporal God calls Glory.Men in their fallen state ascribe glory to money, wealth, fame, popularity because they have not tasted God's divine Glory that cannot be described by anything on the earth.

Glory existed before creation, it is an eternal substance, there is nothing created, made, designed, invented or developed by man in their fallen state that can be equated to Glory. Before the fall of man, the earth was filled with Glory but after the fall, the earth fell short of God’s glory and was filled with corruption, wickedness and violence (Gen. 6:11-12).
For everyone has sinned and fall short of the Glory of God (Rom 6:23). What men fell short of, was Glory and not material things. There is one thing man is supposed to pursue and pant after which is the Glory of God, for that was the only thing that was lost in the beginning. The soul of man was made to be a gateway through which God’s Glory flow into the earth, the soul was made to become and convey Glory into the earth; there is nothing the soul of man acquire or achieve that can satisfy it. The soul was made for God and not for earthly things, true satisfaction is realized when the Glory of God is fully restored into the soul; money, houses, cars , luxury, children, ministry or fame can never satisfy the soul, the more money and earthly substance a man possesses, the more he craves and long to acquire more. The soul is never satisfied with material things, its satisfaction can only be found in Glory.
What God calls life does not consist of the things men celebrate, adore, worship, and highly esteem. Remember the word of the Lord in Isa 55:8-9; for my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heaven are higher than the earth so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. What men call riches and wealth is actually what God calls poverty, nakedness, wretchedness, misery and lack (Rev 3:17).
Jesus Christ the first perfect and complete man that walked upon the face of the earth never call earthly things Glory; His words consists of statements like; take heed and beware of covetousness; for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth (Luke 12:15), ye cannot serve God and mammon (money) Mat 6:24, for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God. Luke 11:15. Jesus Christ was complete and perfect in Glory and in all the nature of God, the life of Jesus Christ is what God calls Glory: He was meek and lowly, humble and simple, gentle and full of love, blameless and sinless, spotless and faultless. Jesus was rich in the nature of God. He is the perfect and complete man that must reproduce His life and nature in as many who will become partakers of Glory.
Moses asked God in Exo. 33:18: I beseech thee show me thy Glory, Moses had realized that despite all God gave to him, the mighty signs and wonders he had wrought through him in Egypt, his soul was not satisfied; he came to the conclusion that miracles, signs and wonders, power and anointing is not Glory. He had done wonders in the land of Egypt, parted the red sea miraculously with his rod, brought out water from the rock, experienced daily supernatural provision of food for the Israelites in the wilderness, yet he was not satisfied with all these supernatural act of God and he cried out show me your Glory. This is the cry of a dissatisfied soul, discontented with earthly gains and achievement because he knows there is still one thing he is lacking; the Lord heard the cry of Moses, descended in the cloud and stood with him there and proclaimed the name of the Lord. And the Lord passed by before him and proclaimed. The Lord, the Lord God, merciful and gracious, long suffering and abundant in goodness and truth . Exo. 34:6. Moses asked God the way to true satisfaction, and God proclaimed that true satisfaction can only be found by being merciful, gracious, patient with men, showing goodness and being truthful. This what God calls Glory, one encounter with the essence of God’s Glory eventually transformed and changed Moses to become the meekest man on the face of the earth in his life and time (Num 12:3). Moses became the richest man on earth in meekness, this is what Glory changes men to become; their nature is translated to become the richest on earth in love, peace, joy, purity, righteousness, and patience. God does not regard nor recognize men who are the richest in money, properties, silver, gold and earthly things. He honours and respect only those who have become the richest on earth in His divine nature.
The dissatisfaction in the soul of Moses was the same dissatisfaction in the soul of the rich young ruler that encountered Jesus Christ in Mark 10:17-22. He asked Jesus, good master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life? The rich man was actually asking Jesus to show him what to do that he may inherit the Glory of God. He had great possessions, but was not contented , he knew he lacked one thing and only Jesus Christ can satisfy that which he lacked. Despite obeying all of God’s ten commandment, this young man was not satisfied. Jesus knew the cause of his dissatisfaction; his great possession had replaced the real essence of Glory, Jesus Christ hit the point; one thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast and give to the poor; and thou shalt have treasure in heaven and come, take up thy cross and follow me. It was indeed a very difficult decision for the man, he became so sad and went away grieved.; for he had great possession. The Glory Jesus Christ was offering to this rich man was the same treasure that a man found in field and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth the field (parable of the hidden treasure Matt. 12:44). The rich young ruler had all things but lacked one thing, he had abundant riches but lacked Glory; he was not a sinner, he had faithfully obeyed all of the Ten Commandments right from his youth, he was so religious but lacked intimate communion with God. Jesus Christ said to him; sell all you have, give them all to the poor, come take up your cross and follow me. Jesus Christ wanted the cross to crush out every ego, pride, respect, fame, popularity this man had earned through his great possession, He wanted the Cross to crush every attachment, dependence, trust and reliance on riches (Mk. 10:24), for this is the only way the rich young man can inherit Glory and enter into perfect peace and rest. Jesus Christ knew that God’s Glory cannot be received by obeying the Ten Commandments, but by receiving the life and nature of Him that gave the Ten Commandments.
We become perfect in Glory not by obeying the ten commandment but all of God’s commandment and God’s entire commandment has been summed up in one commandment; believe in Jesus Christ and receive eternal life here on earth. Eternal life was not meant to be the life we experience after physical death but the life we enjoy here on earth after conquering physical death. And this is His commandment that we should believe on His son Jesus Christ (1John 3:23): and by believing on the name of the Son God, we have eternal life (1John 5:13). God’s commandment is no longer a law to be strictly obeyed but a life to receive and live. This is the life eternal God had prepared for all men before the world began (Titus 1:2); there is no material thing that came into existence after the world began that God’s calls Glory, Glory is everlasting and only that which will last forever is Glory .
